Private Pay

All patients receive a free 15-minute consultation prior to their first session. During this time, we will discuss fees and confirm whether your insurance is accepted or if you will be paying privately.

A sliding scale fee structure can be available (except for those covered by the Oregon Health Plan).

We strongly believe that therapy should be accessible and affordable. Reach out to open a conversation!

The Benefit of Private Pay

Opting for private pay in therapy offers several significant benefits that can enhance the therapeutic experience.

  1. Greater Privacy and Confidentiality: Private pay ensures that your therapy records remain confidential and are not shared with insurance companies. This can provide a greater sense of privacy and security, encouraging you to be more open and honest in your sessions.

  2. Increased Flexibility: Without the constraints imposed by insurance companies, you and your therapist have the freedom to tailor the treatment plan to suit your specific needs. This includes choosing the type of therapy, frequency of sessions, and duration of treatment.

  3. No Diagnostic Labels: Insurance companies often require a mental health diagnosis for reimbursement. Private pay allows you to receive therapy without being assigned a potentially stigmatizing label, focusing instead on your personal growth and well-being.

  4. Timely Access to Care: Insurance approvals and paperwork can delay the start of therapy. With private pay, you can often begin therapy immediately, avoiding long wait times and receiving prompt support when you need it most.

  5. Choice of Therapist: Private pay gives you the freedom to choose any therapist, not just those within an insurance network. This allows you to find a therapist who best fits your personality, needs, and therapeutic goals.

  6. Customized Care: Therapists can employ a wider range of therapeutic techniques and approaches without being limited by insurance coverage restrictions. This can lead to more personalized and effective treatment.

While private pay may involve a financial commitment, the enhanced privacy, flexibility, and quality of care it provides can be invaluable in achieving meaningful and lasting therapeutic outcomes.
